# Moving to Victoria Park — A Local's Guide
Victoria Park is one of Perth's most walkable and vibrant inner suburbs — and one of our most active moving destinations. With Albany Highway running through its heart, Vic Park offers café culture, great transport, diverse housing, and genuine inner-city energy just 4km from the CBD.
Perth Priority Removals works in and around Victoria Park weekly. Here's our honest local guide.
What Makes Victoria Park Different?
Compared to nearby Rivervale and Belmont, Victoria Park has a more urban, walkable character:
- Albany Highway is the spine — lined with restaurants, cafés, bars and independent shops
- Housing diversity ranges from character 1920s–30s bungalows to modern apartments
- Strong renter population — about half the suburb rents, which means high moving activity
- Excellent café access — yes, this matters when you're moving in and need lunch
It's popular with young professionals, couples, hospitality workers, and people priced out of Fremantle or Subiaco who still want inner-city life.
The Different Pockets of Vic Park
North of Albany Highway (towards the river):
Closer to the Causeway, more compact, higher density. Some streets are narrow with on-street parking only — important for truck access planning.
South of Albany Highway (towards East Vic Park):
Quieter residential feel, larger blocks, more established gardens. The character homes are predominantly here. Better truck access throughout.
East Victoria Park (separate suburb, adjacent):
Shares Vic Park's character but feels more residential and slightly more affordable. Covered separately — see our East Victoria Park guide.
Moving Day in Victoria Park — What to Know
Parking for your removal truck:
This is the main challenge in Vic Park. Albany Highway and the side streets north of it have time-restricted parking. For most street-facing properties, we arrive early (before 8am) to secure the best access position.
If you're in an apartment, check whether your building has a loading bay — many in Vic Park do, especially newer developments.
Character homes:
Vic Park's older bungalows and cottages are beautiful but can be tricky. Narrow hallways, low-clearance doorways, and sometimes rear-lane access only. When you book, tell us:
- Whether there are stairs (inside or outside)
- Whether the property has rear lane access
- The approximate width of internal doorways for large furniture
Apartments and mixed-use buildings:
The stretch along Albany Highway has significant apartment density. Lift bookings and loading dock windows are the norm — we handle this for you.
Albany Highway during the day:
It gets busy. We prefer to make the main run to and from Vic Park before 8am or after 7pm if possible, especially for the truck positioning.

One More Thing: Choose a Local Removalist
A removalist based in Morley or Balcatta charging travel time to Vic Park adds cost and unpredictability to your day. Perth Priority Removals operates across the inner-east corridor — Vic Park, East Vic Park, Burswood, Carlisle, Rivervale, Belmont — as our core patch.
That means no travel time charges, faster response, and a team that knows the parking situation on your street.
